What you'll be doing
Provide timely response to clients/patients requiring an immediate medical and/or forensic intervention following the disclosure of sexual assault.
Work as part of a 24/7 on call roster, responding within a two (2) hour time frame and providing responses to designated NNSWLHD Hospitals to provide comprehensive services for optimal client/patient outcomes.

As a Visiting Medical Officer you may be eligible for a range of financial benefits on appointment to a regional Hospital. Where you'll be working
The Far North Coast is a diverse region spanning from Lismore in the south, to the golden beaches of Tweed Heads in the north.
The NNSWLHD Sexual Assault Service provides a 24-hour crisis response team for children, young people and adults who have experienced assault or attempted assault. The service also provides counselling and forensic medical assessment and care immediately after an assault and in the following weeks and months. Information and support are provided for non-offending parents, carers, partners, siblings or family members of children or adults who have been affected. We also provide follow up support, advocacy and information about the legal process, and consultation and advice to professionals. Far North Coast Services Sexual Assault Services are located at Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay, Murwillumbah and Tweed.

Qualifications
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, and/or eligible for General registration with the Medical Board of Australia and have appropriate skills and training assessed by the Local Health District to provide specialist General Practice services.
* Hold a recognised qualification and appropriate training in Sexual Assault and Forensic Examination or willingness to undertake relevant training course as approved by the LHD.
* Demonstrated experience and recency of clinical practice of a high standard in relevant clinical areas such as sexual assault, sexual health, women's health, mental health and emergency medicine.
* Demonstrated high level and effective interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Willingness to work on-call with the ability to respond to Sexual Assault presentations within two (2) hours of request.
* Valid unrestricted drivers’ licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
