As a member of the renal team this position will work in collaboration with provincial renal partners and the Windsor Regional Hospital leadership team to support the Erie St Clair (ESC) Regional Renal Program. This position will coordinate project planning and data analysis in the areas of renal surveillance, research, information/data dissemination, evaluation, quality improvement, and Quality Based Procedures (QBP) to contribute to the building of better developed and managed renal services. The Data Analyst supports the renal leadership team with the provision of quality services for the WRH Renal Program as well as the regional development, health promotion and community engagement.The Data Analyst projects for models of care and concurrent care initiatives as required by the Ontario Renal Network, as well as quality improvement projects, for which project management, data analytics, and process improvement skills are an asset. The data analyst assists with other program priority initiatives or projects in collaboration with the leadership team.RESPONSIBILITIES: (not fully inclusive of all responsibilities, please see the job description)Assists with designing and implementing of performance/quality improvement measures within the Regional Renal ProgramResponsible for Cerner/ORRS reporting documentation and training needs for all front line staffCollaborates with the renal leadership team on project planning aligning with the most current Ontario Renal Plan to drive quality patient focused delivery of care in ESC LHIN.Represents the department at assigned meetings, and other internal and external activities.Coordinates logistics for regional and local research projects, including plans for data collection and analysis, facilitate meetings, establish project schedules, timelines, and resourcesResponsible for ensuring compilation of all data and reporting pertaining to QBPs which drive funding and performance agreementsCollects and links renal data from various sources including but not limited to: Ontario Renal Reporting System, Cerner Reporting, Statistics Canada data and surveys, CIHI and other relevant databases.Collaborates with various local and regional stakeholders regarding their information needsCoordinates and conducts analysis of regional renal system based on provincial data, community input and other sources for the purpose of identifying gaps and establishing planning prioritiesProvides consultative and analytical support involving integrated clinical, statistical, and financial information to support evidence-based decision making and the monitoring of performance.Required analyses may include trending, impact analysis and benchmarking as requested to support monthly utilization reporting and presentation to internal and external committees and agencies.Maintains a safe and healthy work environment for all staff, patients/clients/residents, visitors, physicians, volunteers and families.Determines and influences the collection of new renal data through new and existing data collection tools and questionnairesReviews and validates data samples to ensure high quality timely renal data accurate assumptions are used in regional service planning and evaluation.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:A Baccalaureate Degree in health administration, health policy, statistics, business or equivalentMasters preferredExperience with biostatistics, evaluation or related field requiredMinimum of 2 years in a health care (hospital) environment. (preferred)Experience in conducting methodologically sound, multidisciplinary, evidence-based researchProven ability to undertake advanced statistical analysis and interpretation of all types of health dataSolid understanding of report writing for both ad hoc and regular reporting including data structure and standardization. Select candidates will be tested prior to proceeding to interview stage.Excellent facilitation and leadership skills which foster a collaborative team approach to data and research initiatives.Demonstrated ability and experience with program/process improvements and maintains a focus on performance driven outcomes.Demonstrated ability to interpret indicators while monitoring and reporting performance outcomes.High level of proficiency with a variety of computer software – i.e. Word, Excel, Access, statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS) Medline, PowerPoint, Internet.Demonstrated excellence in communication, customer service and team building with the ability to initiate and model positive change.Good understanding of and sensitivity to Health Policy environment and the ability to assess impact on hospital operations.Demonstrated commitment to life long learning.French Language proficiency an asset.Windsor Regional Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
