Are you passionate about helping people and curious about the world of optical health? Specsavers Leopold is looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Casual Optical Assistant to join our team.
You’ll play an important role in helping patients see and feel their best by guiding them through frame selection, explaining lens options, and ensuring every patient receives exceptional care and service.
About the Role
As an Optical Assistant at Specsavers Leopold, you’ll play an important role in supporting patients throughout their entire eyewear journey — from welcoming them to the store through to fitting their new glasses. Working closely with our optometrists and retail team, you’ll help ensure every patient receives exceptional care and service.
In this role you will:
* Welcome patients and check them in for appointments, creating a warm and professional in-store experience
* Manage patient flow and assist with appointment scheduling to keep the clinic running smoothly
* Conduct pre-tests before sight tests, including visual fields, OCT imaging, tonoref, and eye pressure testing
* Liaise with optometrists and patients following sight tests to support the next steps in their care
* Help patients choose frames that suit their style, lifestyle, and measurements
* Provide advice on lens types, coatings, and other optical solutions
* Take accurate measurements to ensure glasses are made and fitted correctly
* Support patients through the ordering and collection process, including adjusting frames for comfort and optimal vision
* Work collaboratively with the team while helping maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented store

Availability
This is a casual position with some rostered shifts. The successful applicant will also need to be available on-call to cover shifts when required.
* Weekday and weekend on-call availability is essential

* Previous customer-facing experience, particularly in clinical settings
