About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior physiotherapist to join the Musculoskeletal and Ambulatory Care Physiotherapy team at Liverpool Hospital, working as the Senior Pain and Rheumatology Physiotherapist. The successful applicant will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in the Tier 3 Pain Clinic and Rheumatology Clinics, as well as with the physiotherapy department to provide high quality care to patients with rheumatological and chronic pain conditions in South West Sydney LHD. It is an exciting time to be joining as the hospital is undergoing major redevelopment. The successful applicant will have clinical supervision responsibilities of Level 1/2 physiotherapists on rotation to these clinical areas, as well as holding a clinical caseload.
What You'll be Doing
The Level 4 Pain and Rheumatology Physiotherapist is responsible for providing high quality pain management services for patients referred and admitted to Liverpool Hospital's Tier 3 Pain Management Service and to Rheumatology. Responsibilities include consultation and education, across the LHD and extending into primary care, in the specialised assessment and treatment of chronic pain. This includes but not limited to rheumatologic, musculoskeletal, neurological and orthopaedic conditions.
This position is responsible for specialist physiotherapy clinical service provision in the Department of Pain Medicine and Rheumatology, and works autonomously and with multiple service providers in a specialised multidisciplinary team. This includes service development and evaluation and advanced reasoning and clinical practice skillsin the management of clients of a novel or complex nature, as well as providing consultation and education across the SWSLHD in specialized assessment and treatment of clients. This position is responsible for the teaching and training of Level 3 and 1/2 Physiotherapists, and students.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

* Current Physiotherapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated experience in providing clinical leadership, consultation, supervision and education for staff and/or students.
* Demonstrated commitment to professional development and ability to implement evidence based practice.
* Demonstrated leadership, skills and experience in the planning and implementation of quality improvement, research and service development activities.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team.
* Advanced level of clinical knowledge and expertise in the physiotherapy management of patients with Chronic Pain including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological and rheumatologic conditions.
