Heavy vehicle fitter (zeehan)

Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd is Australia's largest tin producer. It is a well-established high-yield tin producer with a strong resource base supporting a mine life in excess of 10 years.

The Renison mine is located on Tasmania's West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery. It is undergoing an exciting phase of development, characterised by a robust Life of Mine Plan and ongoing capital reinvestment to enhance health, safety, environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Fitter with current mining experience to join our team.

In this role you will maintain, service and carry out repairs, maintenance and fabrication of all plant machinery and equipment while complying with all statutory requirements and company safety, health and environmental standards and procedures.

This position is offered on a 7 days on, 7 days off dayshift roster, with the occasional requirement to work night shift to cover staff absences.

• Working knowledge of Underground and Surface Diesel Mining Equipment.
• Daily maintenance activities of all underground and surface mobile equipment including light vehicles.
• Ensure equipment service and repair records are maintained and are current, including vehicle pre‐start documentation.
• Undertake regular maintenance checks for prevention, according to safety standards and procedures.
• Liaise with production technicians to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all specific mechanical maintenance tasks as outlined in relevant JSA's, Best Practice documents and site procedures are adhered to.
• Control mobile workshop area including environmental compliance, oil supply and hydro‐carbon waste management.
• Be proactive in identifying improvements in systems and planning to ensure reliability and availability of the Mobile Fleet Equipment.

To be successful you will have a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Diesel Fitter) Trade certificate and be committed to safe work practices.

You should be able to demonstrate a solid working background in a mining or heavy industrial environment and possess a high level of knowledge and experience in fault finding, diagnosis, repair and maintenance.

Hydraulics experience will be highly regarded and experience working on Atlas and Caterpillar heavy mine equipment is preferred.
