We're seeking an experienced and results-focused General Manager to lead our Hervey Bay commercial laundry operation. As a senior leader, you'll be accountable for the overall performance, safety, and strategic direction of the operation ensuring alignment with business goals whilst providing exceptional service to our customers.
Working alongside an experienced and capable leadership team, including an Operations Manager who oversees day-to-day production, you will focus on optimising site performance, strengthening customer partnerships, managing financial and compliance responsibilities, and cultivating a positive, high-performing and values-driven culture.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership
Set the strategic direction for the Hervey Bay plant in alignment with CLS Group goals. Translate business priorities into clear plans, actions and outcomes onsite.
Commercial & Customer Ownership
Take responsibility for customer relationships, evaluate pricing and service delivery outcomes. Ensure contracts are managed to maximise revenue, margin, and customer retention.
Financial Management
Own the plant's financial performance — including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and margin management. Analyse data and financial reports to make informed business decisions.
Operational Governance
Oversee functional performance across production, logistics, maintenance, and support functions, ensuring alignment to quality, safety, and efficiency targets. Support the Operations Manager with escalations and resource planning.
People & Culture Leadership
Build and lead a cohesive, high-performing leadership team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Manage workforce planning, succession, and capability development across the site.
Safety, Risk & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with WHS, environmental, regulatory, and industrial relations obligations. Lead incident management, investigations, and audits. Actively mitigate business risk.
Customer Experience & Service Quality
Champion the customer experience from processing through to delivery. Monitor service metrics, proactively address concerns, and uphold high standards of product presentation and hygiene.
Change Management & Business Improvement
Lead site-based initiatives to improve systems, workflows, cost structures, and employee engagement. Deliver sustainable outcomes through structured change and innovation.
Stakeholder Management
Represent the site in senior leadership forums, with external partners, and in community or regulatory settings as required. Communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
Asset & Infrastructure Oversight
Maintain oversight of the plant's infrastructure, capital investment needs, and equipment lifecycle planning in collaboration with the Maintenance team.
About You
You're a confident and collaborative leader with a strong background in operational or service-based industries. You bring commercial acumen, emotional intelligence, and a steady hand in high-pressure environments. Most importantly, you inspire trust, foster accountability, and drive meaningful results through others.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership or operations management role.
* Experience in industrial laundry, hospitality services, or a similar process-driven environment is highly desirable.
* Qualifications in Business, Operations, Engineering, WHS, or a related discipline (desirable).
* Current driver's licence.
