The Procurement and Category Management (PCM) team develops, implements and manages whole of Victorian government procurement strategies, initiatives and relationships impacting on whole of Victorian government spend on non-ICT goods and services.
The PCM team manages a diverse range of projects and initiatives with a wide-ranging mix of stakeholders from across Victorian government departments and agencies, industry groups and suppliers of goods and services.
About the role
The PCM team is looking for a highly motivated Procurement Support Officer (VPS3) to join their team on an ongoing, full-time basis.
**Key accountabilities**:
- Contribute to undertaking category management activities to facilitate effective outcomes for aggregated Victorian Government purchasing arrangements
- Support the ongoing contract management of State Purchase Contracts including the monitoring of performance targets and other key deliverables
- Proactively contribute to the development and achievement of team deliverables, goals and strategies
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and process improvements to maximise the efficient and effective delivery of the Procurement and Category Management team deliverables
- Maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders, constructively working to resolve issues or escalate as appropriate
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to clearly articulate outcomes, listen to customers / clients / stakeholders and address their requirements within agreed time frames
- Ability to monitor supplier performance and to proactively identify improvement opportunities and/or under-performance
- Experience with and knowledge of category and contract management and procurement policies, standards and guidelines within the public sector
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and to constructively support the delivery of team and organisation-wide outputs
- Experience in developing and documenting new processes, procedures and supporting materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a diverse workload and competing priorities
