About the Role
BDO (NTH QLD) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auditor to join its Audit and Accounting team. This role involves conducting audit processes and procedures under supervision while ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The Auditor will work closely with senior team leaders, Assistant Managers, Managers, and Partners, supporting high-quality client service and professional development. As a representative of the Audit team, this role plays an essential part in upholding the firm's strong regional reputation. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities
* Conduct audit procedures under supervision, ensuring adherence to audit standards.
* Assist senior team members with audit assignments and the efficient completion of work.
* Maintain ethical standards, respect client confidentiality, and comply with firm policies.
* Identify and escalate independence and ethics issues as necessary.
* Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to provide high-quality service and support.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to workflow planning.
* Support junior staff, providing assistance and on-the-job training.
* Represent and promote the Audit team and the firm's interests professionally.
About You
You will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in audit and accounting. You can demonstrate the ability to work under supervision while developing your technical skills and professional expertise. Your strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively will contribute to the success of the Audit team.
Skills and Experience required
* Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Law, or another relevant discipline.
* Working towards or eligible to enrol in the CAANZ or CPA program.
* Intermediate competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power BI, Copilot, Teams, and Outlook.
* Experience using Xero, MYOB Suite, QuickBooks, Reckon, and BDO Digital Audit Suite.
* Strong understanding of audit processes and compliance standards.
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Current driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to client sites.
