Treasurer Katoomba Winter Magic Festival Inc. (Association)
The Treasurer is an elected position, but sometimes appointed between AGMs, to be a member of the Management Committee. They help guide the Association's finances and ensure we meet our reporting and compliance obligations. Working closely with the bookkeeper, President, Secretary, and the rest of the Committee, the Treasurer helps maintain transparency and good financial management. The Association currently uses Xero for all accounting, which is linked to our Bendigo Bank account.

* Oversee income and expenditure, ensuring payments are properly approved and records are kept in line with Clause 17 of the Association's Constitution.
* Monitor our financial position, highlight any risks, and ensure compliance with our obligations as a not-for-profit organisation, including NSW Fair Trading and ACNC governance requirements.
* Prepare a simple monthly or quarterly financial report for the Committee, and after the AGM, lodge the Annual Summary of Financial Affairs (Form A12) with Fair Trading.
* Work with the bookkeeper to prepare annual statements for members and assist in developing the yearly budget with the Committee.
* Provide advice for grants, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives.
* Support the integration of our accounting software with other systems as needed.
* Help the Committee meet ACNC governance and reporting standards, ensuring our systems and policies remain compliant.
Qualifications
Ideally, the Treasurer has experience with accounting or bookkeeping, understands financial management for incorporated associations or charities, and can explain figures clearly to non-financial people.
