Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent charity that provides support to ill or injured children, high risk mothers' and their families. RMHC South East Queensland is one of the many Ronald McDonald House "Chapters" across the federated structure within Australia and Globally, providing accommodation and other support programs for families. Our services operate 24/7, across all 365 days of the year, supporting our mission of providing essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to support accounting/finances of our Fundraising, Marketing and Communications (FMC) revenue and expenses. This role is part of the Finance team but a vital role in ensuring that FMC are supported in their activities by collecting revenue, pay expenses and provide financial assurance and reporting. The Finance Officer (FMC), also will support the various payment channels through which revenue is received, ensuring that they are optimised, integrated and reconciliation between those platforms are undertaken.

Key Responsibilities

Support core finance functions for the FMC team, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payment platforms, and monthly financial reporting.

Support broader finance operations, such as bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, end of month processes, and grant-related financial requirements.

Provide essential financial support for FMC initiatives, including event reconciliation, donor transactions, campaign reporting, and ensuring financial requirements are embedded into fundraising and marketing activities.

Ensure compliance with relevant policies, financial standards, and internal controls, maintaining accuracy and strong financial governance.

Provide financial insights for budgeting and forecasting and support audit and assurance processes.

Recommend and contribute to improvements in financial systems, processes, and automation initiatives.

Contribute to process improvement by supporting system integrations, enhancing payment processes, and identifying opportunities for automation and improved efficiency.

This role is primarily based at our Herston and South Brisbane Locations with some work from home available.

Requirements of the Role - Key Selection Criteria

* Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Business, accounting or finance.
* Experience in Finance Systems
* Knowledge and demonstrated skills in finance environments, including an understanding of financial controls, segregation of duties, banking controls and master data management.
* A collaborative approach in supporting staff members in undertaking financial transactions e.g. payroll queries.
* Two years previous experience in a similar Finance position
* Experience in the Not-for-profit sector
* Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel
