Financial Leadership Role
The Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key leadership position responsible for leading the financial strategy, discipline, and scalability of the organisation as it grows from a multi-trade to a large business.
This role is accountable for the financial performance, modelling, risk management, reporting accuracy, cashflow strength, and commercial insight across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the long-term financial strategy needed to scale the business.
* Build and manage a rolling 12–24 month cashflow model, updated weekly.
* Develop financial strategies for growth, capital investment, new divisions, equipment, and workforce expansion.
* Provide high-level commercial advice to support decision-making across all departments.
* Own financial planning, budgeting, margin control, and revenue forecasting across the group.
Financial Operations & Reporting
Oversee all financial activities across multiple entities and divisions.
Produce accurate monthly board-level financial reports, including P&L by division, balance sheet, cashflow, WIP, and job profitability.
Implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Ensure timely and accurate payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and BAS/ATO compliance.
Build advanced financial models for each department.

Analyse job profitability, labour loading, overhead distribution, contractor cost structures, materials usage, and divisional GP% targets.
Work with Divisional Managers to improve efficiency, pricing, and profitability.
Create dashboards for senior leaders to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Systems Ownership
Oversee integration, optimisation, and ongoing alignment between QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, and internal reporting systems.
Improve data integrity, automation, and reporting accuracy across all departments.
Build repeatable financial processes in line with ISO requirements.
Lead due diligence for potential acquisitions, including financial analysis, risk assessment, valuation, and integration planning.
Build group consolidation models that enable fast integration and clean reporting.
Establish robust post-acquisition tracking and performance measurement.
Lead and mentor the finance team to create a high-performance culture.
Improve financial literacy across operations, dispatch, sales, and leadership teams.
Compliance, Audit & ISO Responsibilities
Oversee tax compliance, audits, insurance reviews, WorkCover, payroll tax, and statutory obligations.
Maintain finance processes across safety, quality, and environmental frameworks.
Ensure clean documentation, audit readiness, and robust control processes.
Operational & Commercial Support
Partner with Operations, Dispatch, Call Centre, and Divisional Management to support productivity, scheduling, job costing, materials control, labour management, and pricing strategies.
Strengthen relationships with banks, insurers, advisors, auditors, suppliers, and financial institutions.
Provide commercial oversight of major projects, equipment purchases, fleet, warehouse operations, and contractor frameworks.
