Position Summary
The Retail Assistant provides customer service and sales support within McBurnie Group's retail environment. This role focuses on assisting customers, maintaining store presentation, processing transactions, and supporting day-to-day retail operations. The Retail Assistant represents McBurnie Group professionally and contributes to a positive customer experience while upholding company values.
Key Requirements Essential

* Ability to stand for extended periods
* Ability to lift light stock items safely
* Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment
Desirable
* Previous retail or customer service experience
* Experience using POS systems
Job Responsibility Customer Service & Sales
* Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
* Provide product information and respond to customer enquiries
* Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems
* Handle cash, EFTPOS, and basic reconciliation tasks
* Support upselling and add-on sales where appropriate
Store Operations
* Maintain clean, organised, and well-presented retail and display areas
* Restock shelves and displays as required
* Assist with stock receiving, unpacking, and basic inventory checks
* Follow opening and closing procedures as directed
Safety & Compliance
* Follow WHS and retail safety procedures
* Maintain a safe environment for customers and staff
* Report hazards, incidents, or security concerns
Team & Workplace Conduct
* Work cooperatively with managers and team members
* Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and colleagues
* Represent McBurnie Group positively at all times
