Join ORIMA Research as a Graduate Research Assistant focusing on qualitative research within a leading Australian market and social research firm.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Working primarily within the Qualitative team on public sector projects
- Understanding and designing qualitative research methodologies
- Analysing and interpreting qualitative data
- Note‑taking and moderating focus groups and interviews across diverse community topics
- Analysing and reporting on qualitative data
- Project management and coordination
- Problem solving and drawing evidence‑based insights for clients
- Collaborating across research disciplines and participating in graduate projects
About You
What you'll need:
- Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, or Permanent Resident
- Graduate or postgraduate qualification in relevant fields such as Psychology, Science, Social Science, Advanced Social Work, Behavioural Science, Law, Commerce, Communications, etc.
- HD average in graduate/postgraduate course (WAM over 80)
- Knowledge of research methodologies
- Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience interacting professionally with stakeholders, clients, or the public in person and by phone
- Flexibility to travel across Australia and work evenings regularly, sometimes at short notice
- Scientific, objective, logical, and team‑oriented approach
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving, time management, and organisational skills
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with adaptability and humility
- Capability to work constructively under pressure and meet short timeframes
- Motivation for continual learning, intellectual rigour, and interest in public sector and commercial social research/consulting
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $66,000.00 per annum
- Permanent full‑time position based in Melbourne
