Senior Health and Medical Physicist Role
As a Senior Health and Medical Physicist, you will play a pivotal role in regulating radiation safety across the state. Your expertise will be sought after to conduct audits, inspections, and investigations under the Radiation Safety Act.
You will provide expert advice on complex health and medical physics issues, including risk assessments and intervention planning. Additionally, you will measure and interpret radiation exposures, both ionising and non-ionising, across various locations and sectors.
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in physics or an applied science, with postgraduate qualifications being a strong advantage. A current C Class Driver's Licence is also required.
Experience in at least three of the following areas is highly desirable:
* Postgraduate qualifications in radiation physics (e.g., MSc, PhD).
* Work as a radiation physicist or in a radiation-related science field.
* Communicating scientific advice to a range of audiences.
* Experience in a regulatory compliance environment.
* Affiliation with a radiation-related professional organisation.
