Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover South East Queensland across multiple locations.
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to be based at S2 Gold Coast Region to perform mechanical and maintenance duties in the region.
At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.
1. Observe and comply with Seqwater work health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and procedures,
2. Provide safe and efficient technical support in the team with planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of projects,
3. Identify the resource requirements necessary to perform the assigned data gathering tasks – ., materials, equipment, subcontractors,
4. Contribute to the ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of the Seqwater asset management system by developing and displaying a detailed understanding of the scope, function and nature of the mechanical assets used in water treatment, supply system and bulk water storage.
Requirements
5. Extensive experience in Mechanical Brownfield projects execution and/or maintenance of water assets will be considered an advantage,
6. Understanding the scope of work, function and nature of mechanical and electrical assets
7. Experience with WHS Risk Management Systems and Processes (Critical Controls, SWMS, JSAs) and the ability to read engineering drawings,
8. Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team,
9. Sound written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of people.
Qualifications
10. Trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter and Turner or equivalent trade
11. Experience in planning, scheduling, engagement, and management of sub-contractors
12. Experience in directing Trades Assistants
13. Current “C” class Queensland Drivers’ Licence
14. Current Confined Space Entry, BA and Gas ticket, Working at Heights, First Aid, LVR/CPR
