Job Summary:
* Remove surface and subsurface imperfections from castings to meet client specifications.
* Grind and blend defect areas on castings, blending welds to blueprint tolerances.
* Determine grinding requirements based on inspection paperwork, sketches, and blueprints.
* Use rotary files, burrs, abrasives, or belts to remove surface and blind cavity defects.
* Blend and rework repaired areas to specified tolerances.
* Verify dimensional compliance using micrometers, calipers, ultrasonic testing, and similar devices.
* Confirm removal of surface and subsurface defects through fluorescent penetrant inspection tests.
* Provide guidance and training to junior-level grinders as assigned.

* Safely operate all equipment and tools.
* Identify and report safety problems.
* Maintain a safe working environment, including handling hazardous waste when necessary.
