It is based onsite at our 37 Kent Street, Brisbane offices and is a full time, permanent role.About the Role:Key Responsibilities:Responsible for day-to-day team management, including task planning, workload allocation, and maintaining a detailed schedule at least two weeks in advance. Support and/or delegate responsibilities during team member absences to maintain continuity.Foster a supportive and collaborative team culture, encouraging open communication, teamwork, and mutual accountability. Guide and support individual team members’ professional development through coaching, mentoring, and career planning.Supervise team performance by setting clear objectives, tracking key performance indicators, and conducting regular check-ins and performance reviews to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.Ensure on-time delivery of analytical services, including method transfer, qualification, validation, and comparability studies etc.. Responsible for meeting all milestones during method studies and ensuring timely completion of all results.Oversee stability and reference standard programs, ensuring timely initiation, execution, and reporting in line with ICH, cGMP, and internal guidelines. Ensure on-time delivery (OTD) with high quality, and proactively manage priorities and resources to meet study timelines.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality systems, including supporting project filing preparation, addressing regulatory feedback, ensuring timely, high-quality responses, and representing the QC Scientist team during regulatory and client audits.Lead investigations into OOS, OOT, and deviation, and support Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives aimed at enhancing QC efficiency and quality. Additionally, manage the implementation of CAPAs, handle deviations, and apply risk assessments to ensure continuous process and performance improvements. Ensure on-time closeout of quality records with high quality.Partner with Program Management to define project scope, timelines, and costing for client proposals, ensuring deliverables are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.Ensure the scientist team performs activities required for batch disposition on time using the gLIMS system, coordinating with relevant teams and partners to ensure that all required tests and documentation are completed promptly and in compliance with regulatory standards.Ensure timely completion of periodic reviews and global SOPs assigned to team with a focus on high quality and accuracy.Build supportive and collaborative relationships with the QC lab and other departments. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance where needed to enhance cross-functional cooperation and ensure smooth operations.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, QC (or delegate), supporting departmental and organizational objectives.This role collaborates across internal teams within Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Program Management, Business Development and Process engineering. It also collaborates externally with customers, regulatory agencies, equipment/contract laboratory/maintenance vendors and contractors.Keys to Success:Education:Bachelor of Science (Bio-Technology, Chemistry, or closely related degree).Post Graduate qualifications – beneficial.Skills & Experience:At least 3+ years of industry work experience in a leadership role.At least 3+ years’ industry experience in the GMP pharmaceutical and/or pharmaceutical industry aligned to Analytical and Quality Control fields.Knowledgeable in cGMP practicesStrong background in analytical theory and technical competency with laboratory analysis.Experience with audits and regulatory inspection practices through direct agency engagements.Ability to work in a highly dynamic, frequently changing environment with a wide variety of people and perspectives.Ability to effectively communicate in multiple modalities (e.g. electronic, written, verbal, etc.)Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Strong team-working and collaborative skills.Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
