Exhibition Curator Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and innovative curator to lead the development of exhibitions that showcase Tasmanian history and culture. The successful candidate will have a passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of the state's rich heritage.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement exhibition concepts that highlight Tasmanian stories and experiences.
* Research and select artifacts and objects for inclusion in exhibitions, working closely with curators, archivists and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with designers and artists to create engaging and interactive exhibitions that meet the highest standards of quality and inclusivity.
* Ensure accurate and informative exhibition content through rigorous research and collaboration with subject matter experts.
Essential Requirements:
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment).
* Tertiary qualifications in curatorial and museum studies, education, library and information studies, community development or other relevant fields.
* Current driver's licence.
Desirable Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a museum, gallery or archives environment.
* Strong knowledge of Tasmanian history and culture.
* Excellent communication and project management skills.
