Prepare pizza toppings, sauces and mise en place, including the use of native herbs and bush-inspired ingredients in line with our menu.
Execute service efficiently during peak periods, maintaining quality, speed and portion control.
Check all dishes before they leave the pass, ensuring correct presentation and adherence to recipes.
Monitor stock levels for pizza section; assist with ordering, rotation and minimising wastage.
Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in the pizza and prep areas.
Collaborate with the team on new pizza ideas that reflect PHYRE's fusion of Indigenous flavours and Italian tradition.
Assist with general kitchen duties when required and contribute to a positive, respectful team culture.
Skills Experience Proven experience as a Pizza Chef / Pizzaiolo in a quality, high-volume pizzeria or restaurant (wood-fired oven experience highly regarded).
Strong dough handling skills – mixing, balling, stretching and baking Neapolitan or similar style pizzas.
Good understanding of cooking with a wood-fired oven (heat management, timing, product consistency).
High attention to detail with plating, portioning and quality control.
Ability to perform under pressure during busy services while remaining calm and organised.
Genuine passion for flavour, seasonal produce and learning about Indigenous Australian ingredients is a strong advantage.
Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Qualifications Formal cookery qualification (Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent) preferred but not essential if you have strong hands-on experience.
Food Safety / Food Handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
What We Offer A supportive, close-knit team in a growing destination venue in Two Wells.
Opportunity to work with unique Indigenous ingredients and wood-fired cooking techniques.
Staff discounts on food and beverages.
Consistent hours aligned with dinner service.
Career growth for the right candidate as the business continues to evolve.
