Job Description
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist will collaborate with site leadership to enhance HSE performance.
This role involves managing the implementation of site environmental, health, and safety activities in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
The HSE Specialist will serve as a process owner for these areas of responsibility.
Key responsibilities include:
* Fostering a culture of workplace safety, emphasizing world-class performance in safety, environment, and quality.
* Collaborating with operational leaders to provide relevant information and training.
* Communicating effectively with stakeholders.
* Serving as a role model in demonstrating care for others, safety, environment, and quality outcomes.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Supporting the development and implementation of relevant metrics and holding performance coaching conversations.
* Implementing systems and tools to ensure compliance with health and safety, environment, and quality standards.
* Engaging with operational staff and people leaders to ensure understanding and use of required systems and tools.
* Reporting and investigating incidents and making recommendations for prevention and continuous improvement.
* Participating in internal and external audits and overseeing corrective actions.
* Driving and participating in the continuous improvement of processes and outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Nationally recognized qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, Environment, and/or Quality Management or equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrated examples of effective relationship building skills at all levels.
* Demonstrated persuading and influencing skills to positively impact role requirements and organizational objectives.
* A working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
* Results in identifying and implementing continuous improvement.
* Ability to undertake a broad range of HSE activities.
* Strong time management, problem-solving, reporting, accuracy skills.
* Demonstrated achievements based on personal drive for results.
* Proactive approach to work completion.
* Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
* Exceptional telephone skills.
* Sound Microsoft Office skills.
