About the Role
The Safety Advisor plays a pivotal role within the business. They will develop, implement, and maintain Work Health and Safety policies and manage best practices to ensure a healthy and safe workplace for all employees.
* Enhance personal and workplace safety, demonstrating leadership in safety awareness.
* Collaborate with the Head of Safety and OHS to create, implement, and review Safe Work Procedures and Risk Assessments.
* Perform site-based audits and safety walks to identify and address risks.
* Focus on reducing Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and Medical Treatment Injuries (MTI) and their severity.
* Act as the RTW Coordinator, handling workers' compensation and return-to-work processes for injured employees.
* Present safety briefs to site management teams, providing updates on safety statistics and actions.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies to maintain compliance with mandatory regulations and safety standards.
* Coach employees and managers on health and safety initiatives and ensure appropriate training and resources for first aid.
Requirements
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to contribute to a positive and professional team environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
* Ability to influence and make decisions.
* Mechanical aptitude or prior manufacturing experience (desirable).
