We are seeking an enthusiastic APS6 Senior Policy Officer through a labour hire arrangement, with an initial contract running until 30 June 2026, and the possibility of extension.

About the Role As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a key role in developing, analysing and implementing policy. You will contribute to strategy, research, advice and documentation that inform leadership and support the delivery of government objectives. This position is well-suited to someone who thrives on variety, values meaningful work, and is ready to bring initiative and fresh thinking to the team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Under the direction of a team leader, you will:

* Contribute to developing, reviewing and implementing policy initiatives and projects.
* Provide evidence‑based policy advice to senior staff and decision‑makers.
* Prepare high‑quality written products including briefs, reports, correspondence and talking points.
* Use data, research and stakeholder insights to inform policy recommendations.
* Review, update and maintain policy documentation and supporting materials.
* Assist with team coordination, including information requests, planning and administrative tasks.
* Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Prepare presentations, briefing packs and materials to support leadership engagement.
* Support broader organisational priorities, reforms or taskforce activities as required.

What We're Looking For We are seeking a proactive, capable and collaborative individual who brings:

* Experience in policy development, analysis or implementation (or the ability to quickly build proficiency).
* Understanding of government processes, including legislation and decision‑making frameworks.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues clearly.
* The ability to manage competing priorities and work with initiative, judgement and professionalism.
* A team-focused mindset and a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
