Mission Australia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Café One Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Australians in need.
Café One is a social enterprise program that provides people with a history of rough sleeping and chronic homelessness with vocational training and employment opportunities.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Program Management: Develop, prepare, support, and assess trainees undertaking the Certificate 1 in Hospitality and barista course.
* Volunteer Coordination: Manage volunteers and community engagement activities.
* Quality Control: Ensure quality food and service are provided, compliant with QLD Health laws, regulations, and Food Safety Standards.
* Supply Chain Management: Order supplies of food and coffee.
* Trainee Support: Provide ongoing support to Trainees, assisting them in obtaining employment or ongoing training following their traineeship.
Requirements for Success:
* Relevant Qualifications: Relevant degree (desirable) and/or formal qualification at trade level.
* Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of food preparation, hygiene practices, and workplace health and safety.
* Leadership and Supervision: Ability to lead, supervise, and mentor a group of Trainees.
* Organisational and Administrative Skills: Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Time Management: Ability to work with limited supervision, prioritising work and managing time effectively.
* Cultural Competence: Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with people who have experienced long-term homelessness and the ability to work with disadvantaged people in a compassionate and effective manner.
* Physical Demands: Ability to cope with the physical demands of the position (such as prolonged standing, bending/squatting/twisting, lifting, reaching etc.).
* Transportation: Mandatory Driver's Licence with the ability to tow and reverse the Café One trailer.
