Fyfe, a leading Australian engineering and environmental consultancy, is looking for a motivated Botanist to join our growing Victorian team. What You'll Do:
* Conduct detailed botanical field surveys and plant identification across Victoria (and occasionally interstate)
* Design and manage ecological field investigations
* Prepare high-quality ecological reports, including impact assessments, management plans, and policy documents
* Collaborate with clients, regulators, and project teams to deliver innovative solutions
* Build strong client relationships and contribute to new project opportunities
About you
* A tertiary qualification in environmental science, botany, ecology, natural resource management, or a related discipline
* 2–5 years experience conducting field-based botanical surveys, ideally in ecological consulting
* VQA accreditation
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and policy, including the EPBC Act and Victorian native vegetation guidelines
* Proven experience preparing ecological reports and management plans
* Ability to manage projects and adapt quickly
* Professional, organised, and detail-focused
* Confident communicator with strong technical writing skills
* High level of computer literacy
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Comfortable working flexible hours during field programs
* Willing to travel to field locations across Australia
* Current Victorian drivers licence
* Physically able to work outdoors in field conditions
