Project Officer, Support Services

Join our team delivering high-quality archival and records management services to Government Records Repository clients. This fast-paced role involves sentencing, culling, processing, disposal of records and transfer of records as State Archives. Coordinating projects, managing records in various formats, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with archival standards. The Government Records Repository (GRR) is the Commercial Services division of MHNSW, offering records management services to government departments. These services are aligned to the requirements outlined in the State Records Act 1998. The GRR operates a world-class storage facility in the Western Sydney Records Centre (WSRC) in Kingswood, NSW providing for the special storage requirements of records, their retrieval and ultimately their disposal. The GRR was established in 1955 and began operating from the WSRC site in 1974.

* Clerk Grade 3/4. Remuneration package includes salary ($84,659 - $92,701), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
* Full-time ongoing employment.

Museums ofHistory NSW is a state cultural institution, established under the Museums ofHistory NSW Act 2022. It is an agency of the NSW Department of CreativeIndustries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (DCITHS).

What you'll do with us:
This role will undertake a wide variety of operational archival, clerical and administrative tasks for GRR clients on a fee-for-service basis. Supervise teams of project operators providing specialised value-added services such as indexing, digitising, sentencing and archival processing for GRR clients on a fee-for-service basis.

What you need to do to apply

What you need to tell us - Targeted questions:

1.This role involves sentencing of records from various Government Agencies and multiple disposal authorities. In 300 words or less please describe a project where you undertook these tasks, including how you ensured compliance and accuracy throughout the process.
2. Please describe a project in which you supervised a team across multiple projects responsible for tasks such as transcribing/indexing and/or sentencing. What strategies did you implement to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all team members?

Essential requirements of the role:

* Experience and knowledge in the application of the State Records Act 1998 (NSW). Specifically across multiple disposal authorities in sentencing, culling, processing, disposal of records and transfer of records as State Archives
* Capable of physically moving boxes/records of varying sizes and complexity and updating the tracking of records in our systems
* Experience working with Office 365, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, Microsoft Access, Excel and records management software e.g RS-SQL, CM10, Cerner.
* Ability to effectively implement required checking procedures to identify data entry errors and rectify same in a timely fashion.
* Willingness to work across and ability to travel to multiple work locations.
