The Opportunity
Take the lead in managing all irrigation across the farm. This is a hands‑on role with real impact, driving water efficiency, tree health, and the reliable operation of our irrigation systems. You'll oversee planning, scheduling, infrastructure, and a team, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate daily irrigation and fertigation programs
* Monitor soil moisture, telemetry (e.g., MAIT), and environmental data to optimise schedules
* Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pumps, valves, filters, PLCs, and drip systems
* Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on all irrigation infrastructure
* Manage, train, and mentor the irrigation team
* Oversee fertiliser inventory, water usage, and irrigation‑related budgets
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety standards
About You
* Irrigation experience in either nuts, citrus, viticulture, or other perennial horticulture
* Strong technical skills across irrigation systems and maintenance
* Ability to interpret data and make timely, informed decisions
* Leadership experience or readiness to step into a lead role
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
* Current driver's licence
* Qualifications in horticulture or irrigation management
