This role is working in the Melbourne based CRE Credit team, reporting to Director - Commercial Real Estate Credit VIC/TAS/SA/WA by undertaking credit decisioning within a 2nd line Delegated Commitment Authority focussed on property funding requests for our Corporate and Business Banking segments.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Credit decisioning activity ensuring that asset quality is maintained within parameters
- Make it simple for our customers and bankers
- Building capability in the property lending sector across the credit risk team as well as 1st line colleagues
- Ensure that an acceptable level of risk is maintained and losses are kept to a minimum.
- Maintain asset quality of our CRE lending book within parameters
- Contribute to the capability uplift of both 1st and 2nd line colleagues
- Deliver insights to drive informed decision making
- Contribute to a excellent customer experience and grow customer advocacy via quality and timely decision making
**What you will bring**:
- 3 plus years' banking experience, previous credit risk experience and/or Corporate/Institutional banking experience preferred
- Proven experience of managing risk, and demonstrated ability in making risk-based decisions
- Experience facing into multiple stakeholders and being able to effectively manage and communicate outcomes to colleagues and customers
- Deep understanding of risks associated with financial services and property lending
- Knowledge and expertise in the property industry will be favourably viewed particularly when aligned to property lending experience.
- Ability to assess and understand complex property investment and development transactions
- Outstanding communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
