Data Engineering Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our data team. This position will be based in Melbourne or Sydney and involves working at least three days a week in the office.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will implement comprehensive, thoughtful, and best-in-class data ingestion, processing, and delivery capabilities to support business operations. They will build reusable and scalable data pipelines and new API integrations to support increasing data volume and complexity. Additionally, they will collaborate with source system and application teams to integrate and establish data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data landscapes (tooling, tech stack, source systems) and work with extended platform teams to improve data collection, quality, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
Key Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or mathematics is required. We are looking for candidates with 7+ years of relevant Data Ingestion/ETL experience with AI/automation design and development experience in mission-critical data platforms. Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar modern platform architecture is also desirable. Strong Python or similar development experience is essential. The candidate should also have experience with schema design and implementation as well as working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing expectations and requirements.
