Overview Are you passionate about contributing to large-scale defence projects?
Babcock Australasia is seeking an Engineering Team Lead - Network and Systems to support the delivery of our largest-ever contract, designed to equip the Australian Defence Force with cutting-edge capabilities.
In this leadership role you will lead and empower a talented team of engineers, contributing to their growth and development, and work closely with the Recurring Services Engineering Manager to oversee the timely delivery of engineering artefacts through established processes, resources and tools.
You will lead technical investigations, make decisions based on sound engineering judgement, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions within time and cost constraints.
You will produce technical documentation, maintain secure records, and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
Your expertise will also be essential in managing product safety, conducting technical risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities Lead and empower a team of engineers, guiding growth and development.
Oversee timely delivery of engineering artefacts through the application of engineering processes, resources and tools.
Conduct technical investigations and make decisions based on sound engineering judgement.
Produce and maintain technical documentation and secure records; present information to stakeholders.
Manage product safety, conduct technical risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle.
Drive multi-domain engineering decisions and process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering environment and support team growth.
Qualifications An accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor's degree in engineering or recognised engineering qualifications to be eligible for Professional Engineer category membership.
Prior leadership experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A satisfactory awareness of techniques and technologies that may interface with DHFCS in the qualified area of Engineering.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance, as defined by AGSVA guidelines.
