About the Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Hygienist to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. This site-based role reports to the Health, Safety and Training Superintendent and operates on a 4:3 or 8:6 roster.
Your focus will be identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace health hazards to protect the health and wellbeing of mine site personnel.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Leading the development, implementation, and ongoing review of site Health Risk Assessments (HRA) and the Health Management Plan.
* Managing site‐wide occupational hygiene monitoring programmes (dust, noise, diesel particulate matter, and other contaminants).
* Fulfilling statutory obligations as Mine Airborne Contaminants & Quartz Officer (MAQO) and Noise Officer (NO).
* Overseeing Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and Hearing Protection Device (HPD) programmes.
* Co‐ordinating and conducting health surveillance activities, including audiometric and spirometry testing.
* Providing expert occupational hygiene advice to leaders and workers, contributing to broader HSEC initiatives, and promoting a strong, values‐aligned safety culture.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Occupational Hygienist with exposure to working in heavy industry or mining.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in Occupational Hygiene, Science or a related field.
* Sound knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA), Work Health and Safety Regulations (Mines) 2022, and relevant Australian Standards.
* In-depth understanding of Workplace Exposure Standards (WES) for Airborne Contaminants in the Australian mining industry.
* MAQO (Mine Airborne Contaminants & Quartz Officer) certificate and examination, or commitment to obtain prior to commencement.
* NO (Noise Officer) certificate and examination, or commitment to obtain prior to commencement.
* Current C-class manual driver's licence.
