About CatholicCare NT

CatholicCare NT is a territory‐wide NGO with place‐based services across Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Wadeye, Daly River, Tiwi Islands, Jabiru and Southeast Alice Springs. We provide a broad range of family counselling and support, financial wellbeing, domestic and family violence programmes, housing, aged care advocacy, AOD, mental health, employment, and community development programmes.

About the Role

CatholicCare NT provides integrated Financial Counselling, Capability and Resilience hubs throughout the NT. Our model is led by a team of FWC workers that comprise Financial Counsellors and FWC Case Workers, who contribute to improved outcomes for vulnerable people, families, and communities.

The Case Worker is responsible for assisting individuals, families and communities who are struggling with financial literacy issues and concerns in order for the program to meet its objectives.

This position focuses on working alongside clients to address the issues creating financial hardship and working collaboratively with other key stakeholders to remove obstacles to financial wellbeing and capability, including financial literacy education, information, coaching, and maintaining a strong focus on supporting people to change their behaviour.

What We Are Looking For
* Relevant qualifications in Financial Planning, Social Work or Welfare and/or equivalent experience in a similar role.
* Relevant experience in case management within vulnerable communities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to engage with vulnerable people with complex challenges.
* Previous experience with working and living in remote communities and demonstrated knowledge of community development principles and engagement techniques.
* Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.

Employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory National police check and Working with Children (Ochre) Card, together with Social Media and Adverse Media Check. If you have resided overseas for 12 months or more in the past 10 years, this position requires completing an International Criminal History check (ICHC) prior to commencement. The outcome of the initial screening must be satisfactory.
