Temporary Leasing Professional Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your leasing knowledge in a structured and collaborative team, with exposure to strategic infrastructure and land-use planning.
* Duration: 8–12 weeks
* Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (37.5 hrs/week, option for 4 days)
* Location: Port Adelaide
* Start: Immediate – interview required prior to commencement
To manage, administer, and optimise the industrial and commercial property and leasing portfolio of a highly regulated property environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage lease and licence agreements: drafting, renewing, negotiating terms, rent review, compliance with legal and policy obligations.
* Maintain accurate property and lease records: rent rolls, expiry dates, insurance, licences, compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and environmental / safety requirements.
* Tenant relations: act as the primary point of contact for industrial/commercial tenants, managing enquiries, maintenance requests, renewals, disputes.
* Property operations and maintenance oversight: ensuring properties are fit for purpose, coordinating with maintenance teams / facilities management, ensuring compliance.
* Financial management: monitor lease income, budgeting for property costs (maintenance, rates, taxes), cost control, reporting and forecasting.
* Portfolio optimisation: identify under-utilised assets, assess commercial opportunities, assist in land-use planning, feasibility, and development of new leasing opportunities in line with a master plan.
* Liaison and stakeholder management: internal teams (legal, finance, operations, planning), external stakeholders (tenants, local councils, utility providers, regulators).
* Ensure compliance: with environmental, safety, planning, heritage, and port regulatory requirements.
* Continuous improvement: propose process improvements, system enhancements, risk management, ensuring leasing systems/data are well-maintained and optimised.
Requirements/Skills & Experience:
* Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in property, real estate, business, law, or a related field.
* Prior experience in industrial/commercial property leasing or management; ideally in a large port, infrastructure, or transport/logistics environment.
* Knowledge of lease law, licences, property contracts, rent-review mechanisms.
* Experience with property systems, record keeping, databases, property-management software.
* Strong stakeholder, negotiation, communication (written & verbal) skills.
* Good financial literacy: budgeting, forecasting, managing revenue streams.
* Excellent organisational skills; ability to manage multiple leases, deadlines, tasks.
* Strong problem-solving, attention to detail; ability to work independently and within a team.
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to ports, environmental laws, planning, safety, etc., is a plus.
Other Requirements:
* Valid driver's licence.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to regional ports or industrial sites.
* Maritime / port security clearances (or ability to obtain them) where required.
