Job Title: Accountant/Finance (Australian Market)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant/Finance professional with a strong background in working within the Australian market. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in various accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with Australian financial regulations, and supporting the finance team.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
2. Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing and submitting tax returns, BAS/GST, and other compliance requirements as per Australian tax regulations.
3. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage invoice processing, payment reconciliation, debtor management, and related processes.
4. General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure accurate and current records in the general ledger, with proper transaction categorization and reconciliation.
5. Budgeting and Forecasting: Support budgeting and forecasting by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
6. Audit Support: Coordinate external audits, prepare audit schedules, and respond to auditor queries to ensure compliance.
7. Financial Analysis: Conduct trend and variance analysis, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
8. Process Improvement: Review and enhance accounting processes and procedures for efficiency.
9. Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform additional financial tasks and projects as assigned by the finance manager or senior management.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
* At least 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Accountant within the Australian market.
* Thorough understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Must be able to work in the office located at George St, North Strathfield NSW 2137, Australia, from Mondays to Fridays.
