Your role
As an IP Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing IP networks within the telecom domain. You'll ensure secure, stable, and high-performing infrastructure by configuring network devices, troubleshooting issues, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet technical requirements.
You will play a key role in:
* Network Design and Implementation: Planning, designing, and deploying IP networks in the telecom domain.
* Device Configuration and Management: Setting up and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
* Network Security: Applying and maintaining security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and network access control (NAC).
* Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnosing and resolving network issues to maintain stability and performance.
* Documentation and Standardization: Creating and maintaining documentation for network configurations, procedures, and policies, aligned with industry standards.
* Collaboration: Partnering with IT professionals and stakeholders to meet network requirements.
Your profile
* Education: A bachelor's degree or tertiary qualification in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or a related field.
* Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP) are highly valued.
* IP Protocol Knowledge: Strong understanding of IP protocols (including OSPF, BGP), networking concepts, and technologies.
* Network Design and Architecture: Experience designing and implementing telecom network architectures, primarily IP-based mobile core network. Re-designing and implementing network flows based on the project requirements.
* Data Center Expertise: Familiarity with data centre fabric technologies including ACI and EVPN-VXLAN.
* Security policies and Firewall Expertise: Design and configuration of telco grade firewalls and security policy management, preferably Fortinet, F5 and checkpoint firewalls.
* Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively.
* Security Knowledge: Understanding of network security principles and technologies.
* Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
