**The Digital Platforms Branch**
The Digital Platforms Branch is a specialist branch in the ACCC established in 2019 to analyse and report on digital platforms matters. It has the following primary areas of focus:
- The preparation of reports on digital platform markets every 6 months to government for the Digital Platform Services Inquiry, making recommendations to Government to address consumer harm and impediments to the efficient and effective operation of the markets in which digital platforms operate.
- Liaising with a range of stakeholders including government departments & agencies and international regulators to promote and advocate our work including the findings of our reports and recommendations.
- Proactive monitoring and investigation of instances of potentially anti-competitive conduct and conduct causing consumer harm by digital platforms, which impact consumers or business users; and assisting other parts of the ACCC in their enforcement and merger investigations relating to digital platforms.
This process may also be used to fill similar vacancies that arise in other branches in the Mergers, Exemptions and Digital Division. This Division investigates mergers and acquisitions and administers the authorisation and notification processes in the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and has a role reviewing competition and consumer issues relating to digital platforms.
**Role and Duties**
The successful applicant(s) will work across a variety of digital platforms issues including report writing, enforcement and merger matters and international and domestic liaison and advocacy. Successful applicants would be expected to:
- analyse facts and data to draw evidence-based conclusions on digital platform policy issues
- assist with drafting clear, well-reasoned and authoritative public documents (including reports, speeches and submissions) describing the Branch's analysis and conclusions
- draft information requests to digital platforms and review responses
- assist in undertaking and managing consultations with market participants on policy issues, including with large stakeholder groups and in public forums
- assist in liaising with international competition and consumer agencies in line with the objectives of our international strategy
- liaise with the Australian Government, departments and agencies including advocating for the recommendations from our Inquiry reports and the implementation of them

**Salary**: $80,893 - $85,774 per annum (plus 15.4% superannuation)
