FULL TIME 38 HOURS PER WEEK MINIMUM 4 WEEKS ANNUAL LEAVE SALARY PLUS SUPER $75K PA - $85K PA. GRAFTON DISTRICT SERVICES CLUB LTD is looking for a full time chef for their busy venue. Grafton District Services Club (GDSC), located in the historic town of Grafton along the Clarence River in Northern New South Wales, offers an exceptional setting for food and restaurant services.
Surrounded by heritage architecture and lush natural landscapes, the club benefits from its proximity to Yuraygir National Park's unspoiled coastline, as well as major hubs like Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast. Grafton District Services Club (GDSC) boasts a vibrant dining scene with its bistro and restaurants offering a variety of culinary delights. Known for high-quality meals, the venues cater to diverse tastes, from classic Australian favorites to up-to-date dishes.
With a welcoming atmosphere, GDSC provides an excellent dining experience for both locals and visitors. To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills
- Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
- Demonstrate a keen
Interest in growing food trends and techniques
- Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control.
- Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
- Stock ordering
- Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering
- A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS
- Immaculate presentation and grooming
- Ability to handle large service numbers
- Above average customer care and service skills
- Must be able to train our junior team on cooking techniques and procedures
- Assist with staff hiring and training
- Experience on grill and fryer section highly desirable
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Discuss customer requirements and request with the frost on house team
