We are seeking experienced Lead Data Engineers to support large-scale data platform initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimising data pipelines and systems that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and support ETL processes in a production environment
* Analyse and resolve data and system issues, including incident management
* Perform data profiling, system and impact analysis
* Contribute to database and data warehouse design
* Develop and maintain technical documentation (designs, workflows, specifications)
* Provide code reviews and ensure adherence to development and testing standards
* Deliver high-quality solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure data quality
* Support continuous improvement of data systems, tools, and processes
* Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing
Required Experience
* Strong experience leading data engineering activities in large, complex environments
* Expertise in database design and data warehouse architecture
* Proven capability in data management strategy, governance, and standards
* Hands‐on experience with data integration, including scripting and automation
* Ability to drive improvements across data platforms, tools, and processes
Desirable Skills
* 10+ years' experience in ETL development
* Experience with enterprise data warehouse platforms (e.g. Teradata)
* Strong SQL and data analysis capability
* Experience with tools such as IBM DataStage, DB2, and UNIX‐based scripting
* Solid understanding of SDLC, testing practices, and data governance

* Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
* Australian work rights required

You will contribute to a large-scale enterprise data environment, supporting the delivery of data to a wide range of users including analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders. The role plays a key part in enabling data-driven insights and operational outcomes across the organisation.
