About the role:
A normal week in the role of Psychologist for the Drug Court involves responsibility for completing Drug and Alcohol assessments, developing treatment plans, completing referrals and providing counselling. You will be required to positively conduct and actively participate in comprehensive clinical reviews, and documentation of clinical notes will be completed in a timely fashion.
Supporting you in this role will be your line manager, fellow colleagues of your multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Lead and your Supervisor. Onboarding training will also be provided during orientation.
Where you'll be working:
The successful applicant will be based at Newcastle but will have potential to travel to Toronto Court as seen necessary. You will be a member of a supportive multidisciplinary team at Newcastle Community Health consisting of Registered Nurses, CNC's, Counsellors and Aboriginal Health Workers – as well as a broader Drug Court team that involves Legal Aid, Polic, Prosecutors, Community Corrections and Judges.
About you:
You will conduct yourself in a professional manner and ensure confidentiality throughout your work. You will be able to demonstrate and implement an understanding and, have extensive experience, in providing evidence-based drug and alcohol interventions, whilst remaining approachable for your clients. Time efficiency in quality written clinical notes and a high level or organisational and problem-solving skills is a must, and a willingness to learn and participate within the Court System is necessary.
Requirements:
* Must hold a degree in Psychology, with registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Current NSW Driver's License and a willingness to travel when necessary.

* To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
