Western Work Force are seeking an Accountant to work for one of our clients, a civil, mining and construction company based in Bunbury, WA.
This role will see you take ownership of the company's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance across all statutory and commercial obligations.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end management of accounting functions including AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, and reconciliations
* Monitor and manage cash flow, including forecasting, payment scheduling, and collections
* Preparation and lodgement of BAS, payroll tax, fuel tax credits, and other rebates or claims
* Deliver timely weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting, including month-end close processes
* Assist with budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and management reporting
* Maintain and administer accounting systems, controls, and end-of-period processes
* Provide oversight and guidance to administrative and finance support staff
* Support the CFO with commercial matters, contractual documentation, and risk management activities as required
Skills & Experience Required
* CPA or CA qualified
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within mining, civil, or construction environments
* Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential)
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Current Australian Driver's Licence
