The Lakes Resort Cairns is looking for an enthusiastic front desk operator to be the friendly and personable first impression for the residents and guests of our iconic resort.
It is essential that you are familiar with MS Office applications. (Word, Basic Excel, Microsoft Outlook, attaching documents to email, basic formulas on existing Excel worksheets)
Training of the Reservation Software (Hirum/Guesty) will be provided, however, strong priority will be given to applicants with previous RMS experience.
This autonomous position currently consists of various shifts on a full time roster NOT including weekends.
Responsibilities
Handle and coordinate guest accommodation reservations.
Provide on-site assistance during the check‑in/check‑out process as necessary.
Provide on‑site assistance for the guest's experience during their stay.
Provide assistance with booking tours for guests and residents.
Maintain close communication with guests and on‑site residents to ensure their expectations are not just met but surpassed.
Assist with trades and visitors needing keys or access to the resort.
Provide assistance to on‑site residents.
Qualifications
Our Ideal Candidate possesses:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in Hotel Reservations, Front Office, or a similar role. (No experience candidates are still welcome to apply).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Hirum booking software or similar platforms is advantageous, though not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while handling multiple projects.
Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proactive, self‑motivated, and positive‑minded individuals are highly valued.
