DON Farms is actively hiring across multiple leadership and animal care roles at our commercial pig operations in regional Victoria.
These opportunities suit experienced piggery, livestock or farm professionals who want to work in hands-on roles with strong animal welfare standards and practical leadership responsibility.
Opportunities are available in Girgarre and Bears Lagoon, both within easy reach of regional centers such as Kyabram and Bendigo.
We’re seeking candidates open to relocating to these Regional Victoria locations, with relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.
About Our Farms
DON operates two large-scale commercial piggeries supplying our Fresh Pork business. Our farms are focused on:
* High standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and safety
* Strong on‑farm leadership and team culture
* Data‑driven pig production across breeding, grower and finisher operations
* Continuous improvement in how we care for our animals, land and people
Our sites include:
* A 4,000‑sow Mating & Gestation breeder farm near Girgarre
* A Grower–Finisher operation at Bears Lagoon
Live Opportunities
We are recruiting across a range of on‑farm roles, including:
* Senior Site Leader
* Assistant Site Leader
* Animal Care Technician Lead
Depending on role and experience, you may be responsible for:
* Leading daily piggery operations and production phases
* Hands‑on animal care, breeding, husbandry and welfare practices
* Coaching, supervising and developing on‑farm teams
* Maintaining strong biosecurity, safety and APIQ standards
* Production reporting, data accuracy and continuous improvement
* Coordinating feed, supplies, equipment and site care
* Working closely with vets and farming leadership
About You
* Experience in large scale piggery operations or livestock production
* Proven ability to lead teams in a sow breeding or gestation environment.
* Deep understanding of animal welfare, safety, and biosecurity standards.
* Organised approach to managing breeding records and production planning.
* Excellent communication, leadership and administrative skills.
* High level of understanding with Herd health factors
* Experience with APIQ accreditation or similar compliance frameworks.
