Overview
Apprentice Windscreen Fitter (Autoglass technician) – based at our Artarmon Service Centre. Open to applicants aged 17-45. This Auto Glazing Apprenticeship provides the chance to "earn while you learn" while building a stable and rewarding trade career.
This is a 2-3 year apprenticeship where you'll train on the job with experienced technicians, receive support from in-house trainers, and graduate with a nationally recognised Certificate III in Automotive Glazing Technology. No TAFE attendance required – all learning is delivered in the workplace.
Base pay range: A$29.00/hr – A$44.00/hr.

This opportunity is for hands-on learners looking to pursue a trade in automotive glazing.
What You’ll Do
- Train to become a fully qualified Automotive Technician (Auto Glazier)
- Work both in the Service Centre (approx. 52%) and on the road (approx. 48%)
- Assist in: Windscreen repair and replacement; Vehicle side and rear window replacement; ADAS calibration (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems); Fitting of auto accessories such as wiper blades and filters
- Learn to use specialised tools and equipment
- Deliver outstanding customer service as part of a supportive, collaborative team
What We’re Looking For
- A reliable and motivated individual with a positive attitude
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability
- Prior labouring or tool-handling experience (highly regarded)
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Current driver’s licence (P’s or higher)
- Physically capable of performing hands-on, repetitive work
- Willing to work overtime and rostered Saturdays

Rosters & Hours
- Rosters set monthly by the Service Centre Manager
- Two options: Monday-Friday (alternate Saturdays) or Tuesday-Saturday
- Service Centre hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Overtime and some Saturdays may be required
Qualification
- Certificate III in Automotive Glazing Technology
- Duration: approximately 2-3 years, with fast-tracked progression possible based on competency
- Pay progression based on skills and competency milestones
Career Pathway
Once qualified, skills are transferable across automotive trades, construction and glazing, and heavy machinery industries. This is the start of a long-term, stable career in the automotive and glazing industry.
