Project Manager Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have direct management and oversight of construction projects, ensuring safe and on-time completion within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as primary contact with customers, owners, and representatives.
* Understand construction design drawings and specifications.
* Create scopes of work for subcontractors and lead competitive procurement of subcontracts.
* Lead preconstruction planning meetings and identify critical-path activities.
* Create project schedules and update them via regular meetings.
* Supervise and approve final construction/shop drawings.
* Develop and implement requirements for minority business participation and employment/residency initiatives.
* Manage project communication, including RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
* Negotiate vendor costs and approve invoices.
* Maintain a safe working environment compliant with OSHA regulations.
* Close out projects by completing punchlists and preparing operating and maintenance manuals.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Building Construction Management or equivalent experience.
* 3-5 years of related experience preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
