About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our team at Aquarium Industries in Epping, Victoria. This full-time role will work within the Purchasing department and will suit a person who is detail orientated with an analytical flair, and enjoys working with data in a fast-paced environment.
As the Inventory Clerk, you'll play a important role in managing stock levels and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. You'll collaborate internally with multiple departments to optimise inventory processes to support business needs, ensuring operations running smoothly and efficiently. The role will also include liaising with commonwealth government agencies to ensure live fish arrive into the country and move through our quarantine facility in a timely manner.
What you'll be doing
* Conduct daily stock movements across multiple locations within our warehouses.
* Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and stock takes according to a defined schedule.
* Investigate inventory variances, identifying if it is related to receiving errors, picking errors, or system issues, and implementing corrective actions.
* Reconcile inventory records with physical stock, ensuring the ERP system reflects accurate stock levels.
* Process inventory adjustments in the system, maintaining a clear audit trail.
* Prepare and distribute regular inventory reports, including cycle count results, stock accuracy levels, discrepancy analysis, and aging stock reports.
* Analyse inventory data to support decision-making regarding stock levels, reorder points, and disposition of obsolete or excess stock.
* Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to inventory management.
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in an inventory and/or purchasing role of a fast-paced business, preferably perishable goods or other FMCG environments.
* A willingness to strive for accuracy.
* Highly tuned interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) with a team orientated approach
* Attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Exemplary personal organisation and time management skills
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office with a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
* Previous experience using CRM/ERP systems such as MYOB-Exo or similar
* Ability to work proactively and autonomously
