HEAD CHEF – cocachu
We are seeking a creative and driven Head Chef to take the reins of this dynamic beachfront venue. With a fun, fresh menu inspired by the hawker-style street food of South East Asia, coca chu offers a vibrant dining experience overlooking beautiful Catseye Beach. The restaurant's innovative and inviting menu fuses bold Asian flavours with a relaxed Australian twist, creating an unforgettable atmosphere that keeps guests coming back for more.
As Head Chef, you'll have the exciting opportunity to put your creative stamp on a menu that celebrates fresh local produce, punchy flavours and playful sharing plates. You'll lead and inspire a passionate team, delivering exceptional dishes and memorable dining moments in one of Hamilton Island's most iconic beachfront venues.
Your Role
- Live on island in a full-time, permanent leadership position at the heart of the Whitsundays
- Manage a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment with a focus on consistency and quality.
- Lead and develop a passionate, talented team, fostering a culture of growth and professionalism
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to execute the vision and elevate the coca chu offering
- Uphold and enhance Hamilton Island's reputation for excellence, delivering exceptional guest experiences and wonder-filled moments through every dish

About You
- Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or Equivalent (Essential)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential)
- Minimum 4–5 years' experience in Sous Chef or Head Chef position
- Previous experience in managing a team
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and flexible attitude
- Impeccable grooming and personal presentation
- Previous experience in Asian Hawker Style cuisine is highly desirable
