Role Overview:
We're seeking a qualified Trainer & Assessor to deliver the accredited unit HLTHPS006 – Assist clients with medication in the Riverland region once per month. The successful candidate will lead engaging training sessions and assess learners to ensure they meet the competency requirements of the unit as specified on the national register.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver training for HLTHPS006 in accordance with the national unit of competency and workplace regulatory requirements.
* Assess learner competence against the Performance Evidence and Knowledge Evidence criteria of HLTHPS006.
* Prepare relevant instructional materials and practical activities aligned with the unit elements (e.g., preparing for medication assistance, supporting administration, handling contingencies, documentation).
* Maintain accurate records of learners, assessment outcomes, and provide feedback.
* Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for participants.
* Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory developments relevant to medication assistance and training delivery.
Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or higher.
* Demonstrated training & assessment experience in the health/community services field, especially related to medication assistance or administration.
* Thorough knowledge of the unit HLTHPS006 – Assist clients with medication, including its application and assessment requirements.
* Ability to deliver training within the Riverland region, once per month, and manage session logistics.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Current Working With Children Check and/or Police Clearance (SA).
* Current First Aid and CPR certification (desirable).
* Understanding of applicable state/territory legislation around medication assistance, and ability to incorporate this into training (as per the unit).
* Availability to commit to monthly schedule and adapt to the needs of participants in a regional setting.
Hours & Commitment:
* One session per month (flexible timing subject to coordination with Lewis Aid Skills Training and participants).
* Additional preparation/assessment time as required.
