MultiLit publishes a range of literacy products and supports these with comprehensive training programs targeting end users, typically schools and teachers. MultiLit also publishes supporting resources such as decodable readers and picture books under a range of imprints, for use by schools, parents and allied health professionals.
**About the role**:
We are seeking Education Writers to contribute to our growing range of readers, picture books and other resources. If you are committed to evidence-based classroom practice, have relevant expertise and experience in literacy resource development and are full of creative ideas that will delight children, you may like to consider joining a dynamic, hard-working team of writers.
These permanent roles (full or part-time) will be based in our Brisbane office.
**Essential**:
You will have:
- A creative, dynamic and clear writing style, which can be adapted to suit different contexts and audiences according to project guidelines.
- Previous published work, particularly in the education or curriculum area.
- The ability to work to a creative brief related to theoretical aspects of literacy instruction.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to provide feedback to colleagues and to receive feedback from them.
- An understanding of and alignment with the principles of evidence-based literacy instruction.
- A high level of attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A current Working with Children Check (WWC) or Blue Card.
**Highly beneficial, but not essential**:
- Qualifications or experience in editing and proofreading desirable.
- A working knowledge of the Australian National Curriculum and/or children's literature market is beneficial.
- A background in education, special education or related discipline, specifically in relation to knowledge of how reading and related literacy skills are acquired, is desirable.
