Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organisation's financial management system and partnering with the business to ensure effective decision-making, operational governance and funding body reporting is the key focus of this position.
Based in Townsville our client, NQ Dry Tropics, enables and supports the dry tropics community to achieve sustainable management of land and water.
Responsibilities
Lead the management accounting function, including budgeting, financial acquittals and reporting, funding income monitoring, and forecasting.
Accountable for financial and management accounting; budgeting and forecasting; reporting, audit and compliance; asset management; team leadership and support; financial analysis and funds management; and related monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement.
Partner with key stakeholders and support evidence-based decision making during a period of transformational growth.
Qualifications
Experienced Accountant with strong knowledge of accounting regulations and standards and contemporary related issues.
Ability to demonstrate financial analysis and reporting skills, risk management knowledge, and strong communication and adaptability.
Degree qualifications in Commerce/Accounting.
CA/CPA certification (or progression towards) is advantageous.
People management experience; experience within a not-for-profit context is a distinct advantage.
Other requirements
Applicants must currently reside and be permitted to work permanently in Australia and hold a 'C' class driver's license.
