About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a gold-copper mine located in the Paterson Province of the East Pilbara region of Western Australia.
It includes both open-pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operation of Australia's third-largest gold-copper processing facility.
Since beginning gold production in ****, Telfer has produced more than 15Moz of gold to date.
Our Telfer operations offer a fly-in fly-out work arrangement, providing our workforce with a healthy work-life balance.
Onsite, we offer a broad range of recreational activities, including a recently refurbished gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and both dry and wet mess facilities.

About the Role
This permanent, full-time FIFO role is an important part of our maintenance support team at Telfer Mine, WA.
As the Material Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly by managing and tracking critical materials needed for maintenance and shutdown activities.
You'll be the go-to link between our Business Support Team (Purchasing, Supply, and Warehouse) and our Maintenance Execution Teams, helping to ensure that the right parts are available, staged, and ready to go—minimising delays and supporting plant reliability.
Working on an 8 days on, 6 off, this role offers a great mix of hands-on involvement, teamwork, and coordination.
While on site, you'll have access to our camp facilities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and wet and dry mess, to help you rest, recharge, and settle in comfortably between shifts.
As a Material Technician, you will be responsible for:
Supporting maintenance and planning teams by tracking and preparing materials for scheduled and shutdown work
Coordinating kitting and staging areas to ensure parts are available and organised for upcoming jobs
Assisting during breakdowns and urgent requests to minimise downtimeCommunicating with warehouse and supply teams to monitor material flow, raise transport requests, and manage forecasts
Ensuring efficient return processes for unused or repairable items and updating planners to improve future accuracy
Contributing to shutdown readiness by aligning with internal frameworks, cataloguing new stock, and submitting ANSI forms
Identifying and implementing practical improvements to material management processes using KPI insights and field checks
Ensuring compliance with Work Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures and assist in risk assessments and safety investigations as required.

Experience working with shutdowns or managing rotables
FIFO experience or time in the mining/resources industry
An understanding of safety leadership and risk management in an operational setting
