Job Overview
An Application Engineer is required to develop and present conceptual designs, engineered solutions and proposals that are accurate, practical and aligned with client needs.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and present conceptual designs, engineered solutions and proposals that are accurate, practical and aligned with client needs.
* Apply expertise across design, drafting, compliance and technical client support.
* Engage directly with clients across defence, mining, infrastructure and energy, clarifying requirements, pitching solutions and influencing outcomes.
* Deliver CAD models, calculations and FEA reports using Solid Edge and Femap.
* Manage the full cycle of technical opportunities, from initial client pitch through to project delivery and close.
* Ensure all outputs strictly comply with engineering standards and quality systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum five years' CAD and design experience within mechanical engineering or metal fabrication.
* Proficiency in Solid Edge and Femap.
* Demonstrated ability to sell technical solutions, building strong client relationships and converting opportunities into results.
* Strong communication and technical writing skills with proven capability in calculations, compliance and engineering documentation.
* A logical, structured and detail-oriented mindset, with unwavering commitment to precision and reliability.
